Boost Productivity in IT Operations

Highlights
- Consolidation: Merge all systems, hosts, applications and services into one solution to detect, solve and prevent problems.
- Simplicity: Locate your heterogeneous IT environment in one GUI and remain independent of manufacturers and operating systems.
- Proactive: Use autonomous monitoring capabilities to prevent failures of your IT as early as possible.
- Transparency: Get the full view of hardware, software and user rights for versioning, auditing, release and inventory management.
Consolidation and Integration
boom (business open operations manager) is a powerful tool that makes IT monitoring easy. It enables you to consolidate large, heterogeneous environments and multiple legacy tools into a single and transparent management solution. With its open interfaces you integrate additional software, data resources or further processing tools e.g. for change management into IT monitoring. This approach allows you to monitor, detect, solve and prevent problems on all managed systems, hosts, applications and services within one GUI. You can save time and install resources better.
boom is easy to implement, easy to use and easy to maintain. It seamlessly integrates itself into your enterprise environment giving you all the tools and possibilities of an enterprise-class management solution. But instead of being at the price of an enterprise-class solution boom requires a much lower investment. You can reduce your operating costs simply by choosing boom.
Simplicity through Leading Technology
Why you should go for boom? Starting with a minimal investment, the boom experience begins with a simple and fast installation, followed by easy migration steps and an easy integration into your environment, and continues with a state-of-the-art user interface and underlying concepts based on best practices. You can start immediately!
Management plug-ins (MPIs) for operating systems, internet services, databases and SAP enable you to start out-of-box with the monitoring and management of specific applications and services. New monitoring services can be implemented quickly and rolled-out across the entire organization. Additional MPIs can be provided as required. Because boom is so simple to use, you benefit in IT monitoring by reaching goals faster and your administrators can focus on the core business.
Automation and Proactive
boom consists of 3 components: server, user-interface and agents. The agents collect the required data without needing to know in advance what kind of system, host, application or service they’ll find. Their embedded intelligence and autonomous monitoring capabilities ensure the execution of monitors, the evaluation of the results, first level correlation and deduplication, and the buffering of data if necessary. Instead of sending all collected data only the really important data is send to the management database of the boom server. The agents can even act like a monitoring station to monitor items remotely (agentless), if an installation of agents is not possible.
All of this happens with minimal network traffic and without interfering the performance of your IT environment. You achieve benefits like proactive monitoring and immediate alerting. Automatic as well as pre-configured responses and problem-oriented advice allow incidents to be detected and resolved quickly and before they might get out of hand. You benefit by improved response times and ensure the compliance of the Service Level Agreements (SLA).
More Transparency
Being a Java-based operations management solution, boom offers a maximum of cross-platform compatibility. Windows, Linux, UNIX, Mac OS or VMware ESX - all platforms are welcome, even some outdated ones. This helps you to protect your investment in your IT infrastructure sustainable.
boom provides a role-based user rights management for assigning responsibilities and authority to IT administrators and users. Versioning, auditing, release management and inventory management are core functions of boom helping you to make IT monitoring very easy.
